Sales Success Through Self-Confidence

1. What is Self Confidence?

For me, self confidence means believing in myself. Others might hold a different meaning to this concept. Having confidence in myself, I find that I’m more open to my own life and philosophy, more prepared to experience what life has to offer compared to the time without the confidence.

A lack of confidence results in more anxiety and stress, which usually become obstacles to success, whatever success means to us.

2. Why Confidence is Important?

You want to have confidence because you need to. You don’t want to be confident because others want you to but you want it yourself. You want to be very clear why you need it because that clarity enables you to put in the effort needed to develop self-confidence and grow your abilities.

3. How You Develop Self-Confidence?

3.1 Once you’re clear with the reason to be more confident, then, the next logical step is to learn how to develop it. You already know what it means to you, and you know its importance. Your abilities are linked directly to how much you trust yourself, and one of the best-known ways to trust yourself is to test it by going out of your comfort zone and trying new experiences.

3.2 The more you exposed yourself, the more confidence you developed. You give your best shot until you’re satisfied. You won’t become a success overnight but as long as you try, you’ll get there. Be aware of your progress, and keep that incremental improvement.

“Inch by inch, life’s a cinch. Yard by yard, life’s hard.” John Bytheway

3.3 There comes the time when you’re faced with a situation that makes you feel uncomfortable. A simple action you can take is to ask yourself:

“Why I got this?”

“Why I have the ability to handle this?”

“Why am I grateful with what I’m doing, with where I am?”

This practice was taken from the Book of Afformation by Noah St. John. Many people have benefit from this, and so can you.

It was reported that some direct approaches to gain confidence backfire, and they in turn create more anxiety and insecurity. It was also found out that the more self-confidence you have, the less action you’ll take because you’re not anxious or insecure.

3.4 When you are aware of your alignment with your self-worth and value, you’re no longer held back by your limiting belief about your abilities and what you can achieve even when your ideal condition or rules were not met. By definition, that’s confidence because what it really means is believing in yourself.

3.5 Your self-awareness fills you and no matter what happens, you know how to navigate yourself around it. You’ll have certainty and that goes far when dealing with dynamic situations.

3.6 Be aware of how you develop your believe in yourself, and the time will come when you can ‘infect’ your believe on others to bring joy, happiness and effectiveness at home or at work. You help yourself by helping others.

3.7 Self-confidence is the ability to understand that you are confident in your own judgment and abilities and that you feel worthy and valued, regardless of the imperfections that others believe in you.

3.8 You gain a sense of self-effectiveness when you manage to master more skills and achieve more goals. The best way to gain that belief is to use your skills and talents to learn and practice, and that is the key to self-confidence. Your confidence will be even stronger when you see what you can do and are proud of your achievements. Your confidence and self-esteem can influence your family, friends, colleagues, and the people around you.

3.9 There are many comparisons that often make you feel bad about yourself, but those are not the only ones. When you are bombarded with so many elements that threaten your self-confidence, you have to take the responsibility to maintain it. You have to deal with your inner critic and self-doubt, which keeps telling you you're not good enough.

3.10 If your perfectionism gets in the way of doing things, it can make you think that you're not good at it or you're not good at all. When you are working to build your skills and knowledge, do not confuse your lack of accomplishment with a lack of skill. Becoming successful with anything requires you to overcome obstacles.

3.11 As you become more confident, manage your worries, stress, and concerns and you will confidently overcome all the challenges life throws at you. With your new-found belief in yourself and the ability to do so, you can overcome any challenge in life no matter how scary.

Conclusion

The benefits of being confident help you achieve your goals, which invariably means you have more success in life. If you know more about the benefits of self-confidence - and the importance of trust in yourself and others - you'll be more successful.

Trust is not something you can learn by a set of rules. It is a state of mind. Talking to others and talking to your own self is a useful way to improve and strengthen self-confidence
