How Do I Get A Pharmaceutical Sales Job With No Experience?

The thing about getting a sales job, without any experience, with a Pharmaceutical Company is this:

"How do you get experience without getting the exposure?"

"How to get a sales job when you have no experience or exposure?"

We can be like a dog chasing its tail trying to get over this issue. It's never-ending. But the best thing about it, despite being long-winded is we can always focus on the things under our control. We can choose to focus on things we can do. Since we can't create an experience out of thin air, we CAN always try and keep trying until we get that break; that opening which allows us to get our feet wet with pharma selling.

If we persist, the opportunity will show up. We won't be denied forever.

If we borrow the framework of Newsell (the updated version is called WOMBAT selling), which I highly recommend, by the way, we start searching for a job opening at any pharma company, then apply for it. The outcome is either 'accepted' or 'rejected'. If we're rejected, we can fine-tune our approach to a better one, in other words, we think of a more effective way to apply, for example by asking why we got rejected and improved from there.

Now, we have a better way to apply to the next pharma sales job. We keep doing this until we get our break, and it's almost a guarantee that we'll get one. It's just a matter of time.
