Is Pharmaceutical Sales A Dying Industry?

Is pharma sales a dying industry?

I have attempted to answer the question about the survival of the Pharmaceutical Industry when I first created this blog, and that's about (almost) a thousand years ago (wink!). Joke aside, I've foreseen that this question will be asked in the future, and with what's happening around the Globe, such as, the limit imposed on visiting hours for sales reps by some Healthcare Providers (HCPs) including General Practitioners (GPs), this question becomes very relevant.

And now it's Covid-19 Pandemic...

This pandemic, somehow, has brought a unique twist to the profession. What's considered a 'Sunset' industry had received a 'life shot' that slowly, maybe abruptly to a certain extent, bing them to life!

Yes, Pharma sales are picking up the pace and there are no signs of them slowing down. Expect more movements and activities once the vaccine for Covid-19 has been found. Things are going to 'snowball' from there, sort of.

Right now, the activities are high for suppliers of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), face masks, surgical masks, and gloves. These items are not really pharmaceutical items but they are made to comply with 'pharma grade' items. In the industry lingo, these are put under 'Disposable', and usually promoted by Medical Sales Devices companies.

Oh! About that article which I've written on whether the pharmaceutical sales industry is dying or kicking, the link to it is here: What Drive Pharma Industry, and once you're there, leave your thought to whether what the factor is still relevant or else.

Or leave your comment here whether you've got what you're looking for or you still need more. I appreciate the thought.

"It's the thought that matters..."
